In August I took a trip to explore Chicago, a truly life changing experience. The grid-like architecture stood in bleak contrast to what I was used to: the rolling and flowing hills of Northern California. Not only was there not a mountain in site, light acted in a completely different way. Sunsets were a geometric affair, scattering patterns of skyscrapers along the sidewalks. Overall it is a very interesting city to capture!
